Welcome Dr. Christopher Turley to West Alabama Pediatrics!

West Alabama Pediatrics is excited to announce that Dr. Christopher Turley will be joining our team in July 2026!!

Dr. Christopher Turley, originally from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Dayton in Ohio (go Flyers). He returned to his home state for medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center before continuing his pediatric residency training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During his time at UAB, he met his fiancée, who is currently training to become a pediatric nephrologist.

Dr. Turley’s interests include developmental pediatrics, mental health, and ADHD.

Outside of work, Dr. Turley enjoys hiking, camping, mountain biking, and anything to spend more time outdoors. Thanks to his future wife, a devoted LSU fan, he can often be found cheering on the Tigers most weekends.

West Alabama Pediatrics is now offering flu vaccines for the 2025–2026 season!

We encourage all patients — and their families — to get vaccinated early to stay protected during flu season.

If your child has an upcoming appointment, we can also vaccinate parents and siblings at the same time — just be sure to schedule these additional vaccines in advance. We are unable to accommodate same-day vaccine requests.

No appointment yet? No problem! We’re hosting dedicated flu clinic dates throughout the fall. It’s a convenient way to get the whole family vaccinated in one visit.

New and Improved Patient Portal

New and Improved Patient Portal Launching July 15th

We are excited to announce the launch of our new and improved patient portal, designed to better serve your family and enhance your experience with our practice.

Here's what you need to know:

Our current patient portal will no longer be available after 8:00 PM on Monday, July 14th.
On Tuesday, July 15th, you will receive a welcome email from the new portal system.

To register for the new portal, simply:

Click the link provided in the welcome email.
Enter the date of birth of any one of your dependents.
Create a password.
Once complete, the portal will load to the login screen.
Login using your email and the password you just created.

You only need to complete this process once to access all dependents in your family!

Accessing the Portal:

The portal can be accessed at any time by clicking the "Patient Portal" button located in the top right corner of our website.
Please note: There is not currently an app associated with this portal. Access is available through our web browser only.

If you do not see one of your dependents after creating your account, please contact our office at 205-752-PEDS (7337), and our staff will be happy to assist you.

The updated 2024-2025 Moderna Covid Vaccine is available at West Alabama Pediatrics for patients age 6 months-11 years. Schedule an appointment to get vaccinated during one of our vaccine clinics by sending a message in your patient portal or call our office at 205-752-PEDS (7337).

Stay Healthy This Season with Beyfortus

The Beyfortus Preventative Antibody Injection is available!

Indication: Beyfortus is a prescription medicine used to help prevent a serious lung disease caused by Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in:

• Newborns and infants born during or entering their first RSV season.

• Children up to 24 months of age who remain at risk of severe RSV disease through their second RSV season.

Contact your insurance provider to see if you’re covered to have your baby protected against RSV with Beyfortus.

Flu Vaccines are now available for patients and parents!

Flu Vaccine clinics will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays this fall from 8:00-4:30 beginning September 4th!

Patients have the option to self schedule their appointment via the patient portal! Login at login.intelichart.com/westalabamapediatrics and click "Schedule an appointment" or call our office at 205-752-PEDS(7337).

Have an upcoming well visit? Send a message through your patient portal or call our office if you, your child, or their siblings would like to receive a flu vaccine at their scheduled well visit. We are unable to make same day appointments for flu vaccines, therefore it is important to contact us to schedule a flu vaccine in advance, if you or anyone in your family would like to get it at this visit.
